Hot, dry and dusty, the Disputed Western Territories are when men are men, women are women and they're all carrying at least one firearm.
Built out of Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming and most of Montana, the Disputed Western Territories are less a country and more a huge no-go area. Small gangs and militias spring up, carve out a piece of territory, then turn on each other and are taken over by another gang. Commerce with the outside world has run down to almost nothing outside guns and liquor, and even the most fearless or greedy mercenary thinks twice before crossing the Territories.
The Territories, taken as a whole, share borders with the Nation of Hollywood, Pacifica, Deseret, Free Colorado, Lakota Territory and the People's Collective.
Each of the surrounding nations claims parts of the Disputed Territories, with a great deal of overlap, but nobody currently has the combination of political will and military might to overcome not only the other nations but also the strong antipathy of the locals towards outsiders. The Disputed Western Territories are famed for having more guns per person than any other part of the world.
