The Ford Hoplite is an aircraft featured in Crimson Skies.

History[]

The Hoplite was produced by Ford initially for the Industrial States of America, who were having trouble with the gangs of criminals there.^[1] The autogyro was so successful at combatting the gangs that it was soon on the markets of the Nation of Hollywood, the Empire State and Pacifica. Not only that, but it's become a worldwide aircraft being found on used-aircraft markets outside of America. For a civilian autogyro, the two Sperry-Browning guns make it heavily armed for such a light and nimble machine, leading to it being used by various security companies including Hollywood Studio Security. It is also used by some pirate gangs, most notably the Black Hats.^[2]
