The Gemini was a Zeppelin featured in Crimson Skies. It is a large military zeppelin operated by the Nation of Hollywood and under the command of Johnny Johnson. Widely considered a behemoth, the Gemini was sent after the Fortune Hunters zeppelin Pandora by Johnson following a decoy air race that Nathan Zachary was forced to take part in.[1] The race was a distraction to allow Hollywood to locate the Pandora while the Fortune Hunters were busy at the race. After returning to the Pandora, they discovered the trap and the Gemini was rapidly approaching the Pandora.[2]
The Gemini was both faster and more heavily armed than the Pandora, so running or a straight fight was not in the favor of the Fortune Hunters. Instead, they began to deal with the fighters before targeting the engines of the Gemini to slow her down.[2] Unfortunately, the zeppelin was able to get into a firing position and start exchanging broadside fire with the Pandora.[3]
Using the same tactic as they used on the Blake Aviation Security Light carrier-class zeppelin Promised Land,[4] when the Gemini opened her cannon hatches to fire on the Pandora, the Fortune Hunters targeted the exposed cannons with rockets and gunfire. Eventually, they succeeded in blowing at least three of the Gemini's gas bags, causing the behemoth to crash below the cloud layer.[3]
