The Luftwaffe is a group featured in Crimson Skies. It is the main air force of Germany, and operates a large portion of the Focke-Wulf Fw 193 Hellhound produced. When Germany started to rearm in the 1930s, the Luftwaffe was provided with aircraft, with the first being the Hellhound, the first aircraft produced since the Great War.[1] During the early to mid '30s, the Hellhound was the main fighter aircraft of the Luftwaffe, and despite being released now to the international markets, it is still a major component of the group, regularly carried by German Zeppelins.
While rarely operating outside of Europe, some private German investors travelled to Manhattan to support Sacred Trust Incorporated in evacuating their stolen goods out of North America.[2] At least one zeppelin, the Beowulf was present in Manhattan at the time of the Fortune Hunters raid on the Sacred Trust Cargo zeppelins attempting to flee the Empire State. The private investors had taken a small portion of the Luftwaffe with them to help Sacred Trust escape, but after the Fortune Hunters disabled the cargo zeppelins, they abandoned Sacred Trust and left the Empire State with their Luftwaffe zeppelins back to Germany.[2]
