The Nathaniel Bowditch was a Zeppelin featured in Crimson Skies. It was a passenger zeppelin owned by the Empire State and under the protection of Blake Aviation Security. However, while being escorted by Blake Aviation, it was attacked by the ruthless pirate gang the Black Hats which shot down all the Blake Aviation fighters, stole the goods aboard the zeppelin and finally destroyed it.[1]
Unbeknownst to Blake Aviation, this was a targeted attack on the zeppelin, which was known by the Black Hats to be carrying high value cargo. Behind the scenes, Lucas Miles was pulling the strings of both the Black Hats and Sacred Trust Incorporated, passing on all the information about Blake Aviation contracts to allow the Black Hats to target high value Blake Aviation contracted zeppelins such as the Nathaniel Bowditch.[1]
