The Runaway Witness is the twenty-second mission featured in Crimson Skies. It is the second mission taking place in Manhattan.

Briefing

Recommended Plane

Due to the high amount of enemy aircraft, a solid aircraft with a rear turret would be beneficial to have more guns firing on the Black Hats. As such, a Fairchild F611 Brigand would be a good choice, or a McDonnell S2B Kestrel. Alternatively, if you want to get to the Arcadia and away as quickly as possible, a fast fighter/interceptor such as the Blue Streak Hughes Bloodhawk or Red Hot Spender Curtiss-Wright J2 Fury would work well.

For ammunition, AP or Dum-Dum rounds work well against the Brigands, and Flak rockets can cause additional damage to them, or help you take down the faster Focke-Wulf Fw 193 Hellhounds that come in towards the end of the mission. Taking Aerial torpedoes are pointless as your mission is to protect the Arcadia, not bring it down.
