Crimson Skies Wiki

Union Jack's Revenge is the fifth mission featured in Crimson Skies. It is the fifth and final mission to take place in the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Synopsis[]

Having defeated the British and acquired new equipment for the Pandora to help salvage operations, the only thing left to do is defend the Pandora against anything or anyone wanting to take Drake's Gold for themselves.

Briefing[]

Recommended Plane[]

A dogfighter, especially a Devastator, will be effective against your entirely fighter-based opposition.

Recommended Loadout[]

Pack the flak for this one - although some armor-piercing rockets and ammunition might not hurt against the Brigands.

Walkthrough[]

  • The Pandora begins over the Teresá and will begin loading, however while doing so the first wave of Medusas will appear. Two squadrons appear from the northeast, comprising of three McDonnell S2B Kestrels and two Fairchild F611 Brigands. The Brigands will target the Pandora's engines and so are the main threat of the mission, as without enough engines to propel it, the ladened Pandora will not be able to move with the gold. The Kestrels will go for you and the other fighters, making them a secondary priority. Be aware, however, that if your wingmen go down to the Kestrels, said Kestrels will turn on you, making the mission more dangerous, so support them where you can to keep them alive.
  • Target the Brigands, as they're the main threat. Their rear turret will make attacking them dangerous but necessary. Use flak rockets if possible to help take them down quicker, though be careful around the Pandora as the splash can cause unnecessary damage to the Pandora's engines and defensive turrets. After the Brigands have been taken care of, you can clear out the Kestrels if your wingmen have not already taken care of them.
  • When the first wave has been destroyed, you will get a short time to breathe before a second wave appear from the southwest. It's another two squadrons of both three Brigands and a Kestrels. However, Justine Perot will be flying with them this time in her Kestrel, making her the new priority target. Once again, the Brigands will go for the Pandora while the Kestrels target you and your fighters, but so will Justine. If you ignore her, she will tear through your aircraft, so go for her first. Use flak rockets if you have any left, or a well placed armor-piercing rocket or High Explosive rocket will also do heavy damage to her.
  • Once Justine has been taken care of, revert back to the strategy for the first wave. Target the Brigands first before dealing with the remaining Kestrels. If you are unsure of how much damage the Pandora has taken, Sparks will radio whenever the Pandora loses an engine or too many turrets, so use that as some indication. If you are struggling, use the terrain to your advantage to shake off any pursuer, in particular flying low between the bottom of the Pandora and the cove will usually cause any attacker to break off.
  • Upon downing the final fighter, Zachary will remark that they probably won't see any more Medusas for the day, before checking in with Sparks. There will be a short time before the screen freezes and fades to black, ending the mission. As there is no docking sequence, be sure to finish up anything outstanding before downing the final aircraft else you will have to replay the mission.

Stunts[]

Three in this mission, two of which you've seen before

  1. The watery cave on the eastern shore. You can grab this before the Medusas show up, if you're quick.
  2. The palm-tree gap. You can grab this before the Medusas show up, but you've got to be quick, and the gap seems narrower than before.
  3. Once the Pandora has lowered the grappling hook, fly between the Pandora and the Teresá.

Logbook items[]

  • A photograph showing some of the PANDORA's crew enjoying the lost treasure.
  • A captioned sketch of Zachary and Justine made by Jack.

Notes[]

  • Justine herself carries flak rockets, so watch out for those when flying to meet her, as being hit by one will do heavy damage to your aircraft.

Trivia[]

  • Despite its name, the British Empire does not feature in this mission.
  • This is the last mission taking place within the Kingdom of Hawaii.
  • This is also the last mission involving the Medusas gang.
  • Despite Justine being identified by name by Zachary during the mission, in-game she is just labelled as "Medusa Ace".
